A series of interior and exterior works were created for the Karratha Leisureplex to express the joy and fun in movement. Each piece was thoughtfully placed for maximum effect, from the basketballer going for a slam dunk to the silver runners exploding from a crouch and the colourful water creatures near the pool to the welcoming sculpture of a diver designed to be seen from the busy local highway.

Colourful and some tactile, the pieces were designed to be playful and appeal to all ages, connecting families and the community who come together to play sport and enjoy their leisure.

Karratha is located in the State’s north-west and with warm to hot temperatures and little rain, making climate consideration vital to this project in terms of fabrication and choice of materials.
