Aboriginal artist Peter Farmer co-designed a unique artwork for the foyer of the flagship building of natural gas producer Woodside. Maajit Bardook means The Ancient Spirit is Near and encourages you to sit with the artwork, taking time to relax and reflect.

Designed to be a meeting place, the integrated lighting is connected to the six Noongar seasons and sounds of local flora and fauna echo through the space, linking the piece to the land, the company’s work around Western Australia and the people they do business with.

The piece is a wonderful example of collaboration between designers which pays respect to the history of the site while using a modern approach.

“Listen to the sounds of the natural environment around us,” says the plaque accompanying the work. “The Ancient Spirit that resides here is not silent, and has much to say.”
